GIRL GAMER ZONE
8.1

What is the Girl Gamer Zone at GeForce LAN?
In an effort to support women in gaming, NVIDIA and PMS Clan have partnered up to create a female-friendly environment for women gamers at GeForce LAN. An entire section of the BYOC called Girl Gamer Zone has been dedicated for female gamers.  The Girl Gamer Zone is open to all female gamers and will have its own dedicated tournament and fun activities.

Everyone who registers for the Girl Gamer Zone can also participate in the GeForce LAN official amateur tournaments and fun activities.

8.2

I am a female, do I have to sit in the Girl Gamer Zone section?
No. This is optional.  However, if you are a PMS Clan member or if you wish to compete in the Women’s Amateur Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament, you are required to sit in the Girl Gamer Zone area.

8.3

How do I get seating in the Girl Gamer Zone?
Simply select the GeForce LAN – Girls Gaming Zone Seat registration path to be seated in the Girl Gamer Zone.

8.4

What kind of activities will be going on in the Girl Gamer Zone section?
PMS Clan will be providing awesome perks and goodie bags to all the female registrants in the Girl Gamer Zone, as well as hosting numerous fun activities and the Women’s Amateur Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament.  Ever see a game of Twister go awry or experience a gamer version of Simon Says?  You will be able to participate in the Girl Gamer Zone area!

8.5

Why is the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament only for females?
While PMS Clan traditionally supports co-ed events, the fact remains that many women are still nervous attending LAN tournaments--or have never attended one at all.  As all other GeForce LAN tournaments are open to male and female players, by creating a women-only tournament we hope to encourage more females to come participate in a unique LAN event and get some experience in live competitive game play.  Counter-Strike 1.6 was chosen because the ESWC Women’s Counter-Strike 1.6 finals are also at the event, so women players will be able to come see the best women in the business, meet many more like themselves, and play in a tournament of their own for experience.

8.6

Who are the PMS Clan?
Pandora’s Mighty Soldiers (PMS Clan) is a diverse group of women gamers from all over the world, playing together on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 platforms. Their mission is to provide a fun, safe and competitive environment for female gamers. They are hard-core gamer sisters, mothers, wives, and daughters—and vary from ages, ethicality and social backgrounds. Only one common factor can be found among them, and that is their addiction to gaming!

8.7

I am a PMS Clan member; do I have to sit in the PMS Clan section?
Yes. PMS Clan members will be required to sit in the PMS Clan section within the Girl Gamer Zone area. You must use a private code when registering, please email pmsLAN@pmsclan.com to get it today.

NVISION GREEN
9.1 What is NVISION Green?
Tradeshows use a lot of energy, and BYOCs use even more. We are doing everything we can to lower NVISION's impact on the environment, and so we're asking you to participate in NVISION Green. How can you be green? Try this:
  • Carpool to the event or take public transportation.
  • Recycle everything you can during the show, there will be plenty of places to do this.
  • Take/eat only what you need, keep waste to a minimum.
  • Don't be green just for this show – Recycle everything you can at home, take the train or walk whenever possible, and dispose of your electronics responsibly.

9.2 What is NVIDIA doing to be green?
  • We require all our food and maintenance vendors and exhibitors to be green, for example, using biodegradable plates/cups and composting trash.
  • Asking our production company to help us in reducing energy usage as much as possible, such as turning off power from 2 A.M. – 8 A.M. daily.
  • Giving attendees and exhibitors an opportunity to balance the greenhouse gas used in their travel through green tags.
